Lollapaloso: Can you tell us your names and the roll you play at We're No Heroes?
Nos pueden decir sus nombre y que participación tienen en la banda?
WNH: There are 3 of us in WNH, we all sing. Tom plays Guitar, Dewey, Bass and Luke on the Drums.

Lollapaloso: can you tell us how the band started?
Como inicio la banda?
WNH: We've known each other for a long time, but we lay the main foundations of the band together while spending a few weeks in Chicago visiting Luke during summer 2009. Later that year we started recording a demo in our home studio and released those songs on 'Crossing Over' in February 2010.
Ya nos conocíamos desde hace mucho tiempo pero realmente la banda comenzó cuando visitamos a Luke durante el verano del 2009 en chicago. Mas tarde ese mismo año iniciamos a grabar nuestro demo en casa y lanzar algunas canciones que están incluidas en el EP Crossing Over en febrero del 2010.
Lollapaloso: How do you describe your music?
Como describen su música?
WNH: Our sound is forever changing but we always have that fundamental Funk ethic behind it. We enjoy a lot of world music as well as electronic sounds. We try and create organic dance music with a raw and rough feel to it, a contrast of big, dark modal sounds mixed with upbeat and syncopated angular finishes. A winter dance party!
Nuestro sonido esta en constante cambio pero siempre tenemos los fundamentos del Funk en ella. Siempre disfrutamos de World Music así como los sonidos electrónicos Nosotros tratamos de crear música de baile orgánica con una sensación cruda y áspera, un gran contraste, sonidos oscuros mezclado con acabados sincopados y alegres. Lollapaloso: today that the internet is a vital way of communication and freedom of expression. what do you think about S.O.P.A and P.I.P.A laws? Is it a good way to stop piracy or another way to control people?
En el mundo actual internet es un medio de comunicación y de libre expression vital. Que piensan acerca de Sopa y PIPA? Es una buena medida para detener la piratería o es una medida más para controlar a la gente?
WNH. Piracy has had an obvious impact on the music industry, although there will be big attempts to stop it, no government or any bill will be able to stop people sharing music in one way or another.
Times are always changing and the industry and its laws have been slow to catch up with how fast technology and the attitude and values of people have changed.
The big cooperate labels really need to put money into creating new, innovative ideas to save itself, instead of unashamedly taking advantage of artists and consumers. Success into days musical climate is to simply adapt, to work hard at what you love and be clever about it.
La pirateria tiene un claro impacto en la industria de la música, sin embargo habido grandes intentos por detenerla, ningún gobierno o multa hará que la gente deje de compartir música.
Los tiempos siempre están cambiando y la industria de la música y sus leyes no han progresado al ritmo que la tecnología y, las actitudes y valores de la gente lo han hecho.
Las compañías disqueras realmente necesitan invertir dinero en crear nuevas e innovadoras ideas para salvarse, en vez de eso lo que hacen es tomar ventaja de los artistas y sus consumidores. El éxito en el mundo de la música, en estos días, se simplifica en adaptarte, trabajar duro en lo que amas y ser inteligente.
Lollapaloso: what bands or artists have influenced We're No Heroes?
Que bandas o Artistas han influenciado a We’re No Heroes?
WNH: We think that a lot of people probably assume we're massively into a bunch generic indie bands, which couldn't be further from the truth. We each have our own personal tastes of course, but collectively we are influenced by music that has groove, that you can feel in your heart and that makes you want to move, funk music has always been a massive influence on us particularly and its probably the thing that will always underline our music in some way. In terms of artists, Defunkt, Fela Kuti, Studio, Battles, Cut Copy to name a few.
Mucha gente piensa o asume que estamos dentro un puñado de bandas indies, lo cual no puede estar más alejado de la verdad. Cada uno de nosotros tiene su toque pero como grupo estamos influenciados por la música Groove, la que puedes sentir en tu corazón y provoca que te muevas, la música funk siempre ha tenido gran influencia sobre nosotros y probablemente esa influencia siempre este marcada en nuestra música. En términos de artistas, Defunkt, Fela Kuti, Studio, Battles, Cut Copy por nombrar algunos.
Lollapaloso: Is your music only influenced by music? Or do you use the influences of books, movies and you're personal lives too?
Solo están influenciado por la música? O por algún libro, películas o experiencias personales?
WNH: We draw influence from everything, from experiences, art, film, literature, people, life. We draw from many things when thinking about writing music and lyrics. We pretty much do everything ourselves in the band so we're always open to everything around us and are easily influenced by things we like and enjoy to do.
Tomamos influencias de todo tipo, desde experiencias, arte, películas, literatura, personas, la vida, sobre todo al momento de crear música y componer. Nos gusta hacer de todo es por eso que siempre estamos abiertos a todo lo que nos rodea y es muy fácil influenciarnos por las cosas que nos gustan y disfrutamos hacer.
Lollapaloso: What are the up and coming projects for We're No Heroes this year in 2012?
Cuáles son los proyectos para este 2012?
WNH: At the moment we're in the studio with the talented producer Jordan Andrews from RipeFruit Recordings in Cardiff working on our new sounds. We're looking to release something this April. Actually, you guys are the first to get the official word. We'll also be doing some more shows around the UK and outside of it if we're lucky enough.
Por el momento nos encontramos en el Studio con el talentoso productor Jordan Andrews de la disquera RipeFruit Recordings en Cardiff trabajando en nuestro nuevo sonido. Estamos buscando lanzar algo en abril, Ustedes son los primeros en enterarse de esto. También nos mantendremos tocando por todo UK y en los alrededores si tenemos suerte.
Lollapaloso: What is the weirdest thing that has happened to you in a show?
Que ha sido lo más raro que les ha pasado durante un show?
WNH: There has been a lot of weird ones. We once got everyone to make a human pyramid during the last song of our set. Dewey fell off the stage because he couldn't see where he was due to a smoke machine. Another time a male stripper started dancing with girls at the front of the stage we were on.
Nos han pasado muchas cosas raras. Una vez en uno de nuestros con ciertos, al tocar la última canción, la gente comenzó hacer una pirámide humana. Dewey se cayó durante un show por qué no vio donde estaba parado gracias a una maquina de humo seco que cubría todo el escenario. En otra ocasión un stripper comenzó a bailar junto a varias en el escenario.

Lollapaloso:. Can we expect a show coming soon to mexico city?
Podemos esperar un show en México próximamente?
WNH: We are huge fans of Mexico and will love to come do a show in the city. Unfortunately, we have no official dates soon but we certainly want to come out there and play!
Tenemos muchos fans en México y nos encantaría dar un concierto en esa ciudad. Por desgracia, no tenemos fechas oficiales para México pero por supuesto que queremos ir y tocar.
